I think the problem statement should be:
- How the contours and surfaces of the room and the furniture in the room can affect sound quality and sound refraction and reflection, which in turn affects the range of audibility of the sound waves and the optimum range in which all the soundwaves can be heard instantaneously. The positioning of the sound system and stereo can also play a major part in contributing and increasing the maximum range of audibility, at the same time help diverge and spread out the sound waves, so as to ensure a greater range and clearer sound wavelengths for optimum hearing quality.
....Should be barhhx.
Anyway please leave any comments you have for the problem statement, and I will be glad to address it in my next edit of this, if it is relevant.(most probably yes)
YAY I CAN FINALLY SLEEP NOW zZz...

Ok, so for your group, your PBL will be exploring
ReplyDelete(1) Dimension and shape of room
(2) Layout of furniture including stereo system
You have also stated briefly about the spreading of sound waves. Hint: Explore the topic of wave diffraction and interference (constructive and destructive).
Think about these questions as you read up on the above topics:
(1) What is constructive and destructive interference?
(2) How and when does spreading of waves i.e. diffraction occur?
(3) During interference, constructive and destructive interference occurs. How is the extent affected by (i) distance of audience from source of sound (ii) distance between loudspeakers (iii) size of loudspeakers
(4) Explore the different kinds of speakers e.g. woofer etc. What is the function of the woofer? Did you know that speakers giving out high and low pitch sounds can be positioned differently?0
